A Follow-up on the Safeguard Derma Sense Facial Cleanser

A couple of weeks ago, I discussed about my initial thoughts about the Safeguard Derma Sense — a dermatologically-tested range of skin care products that’s created by one of the brands that I trust, Safeguard! The reason why the Derma Sense stands out among the other acne-fighting products because it contains an antibacterial ingredient that removes germs that causes acne and giving you healthy and beautiful skin.

I’ve been using the Derma Sense for more than two weeks now and I’m excited to report to you today an honest review of the product, specifically the Derma Sense Cleanser for Acne- Prone Skin. The cleanser has helped me have an acne-free face while I was out traveling, but in Manila, it was another story.

The weather in Tokyo was really pleasant, but that doesn’t mean I’m still not prone to acne. I get so exhausted from all that walking around that I get too lazy to clean my face at night. In fact, I would just resort to wet wipes to remove the dirt and grime before going to bed. I can easily get acne with that kind of routine because it has happened before, but I didn’t and I owe that to Safeguard Derma Sense’s antibacterial ingredients.

Now, before JP, my boyfriend, and I went back to Manila, I asked him to pack my toiletries because my luggage was already full. I’ve forgotten to claim my toiletries for two days and during this short period, my face experienced a mild acne breakout due to the ridiculous heat of Metro Manila and the icky sweating I get from working out.

Since then, I’ve started cleansing my face twice a day with Safeguard Derma Sense Cleanser for acne-prone skin. The good thing about the cleanser is that for a 100ml bottle, a pea-sized amount can go a long way. My skin gets a little tight after patting it dry, but like I said in my previous post, it’s nothing moisturizer can’t fix.

I also noticed that my blackheads are much easier to remove with a single nose strip. In the past, I would always consume 2-3 nose strips because the blackheads are very stubborn to get rid of. As for the acne breakout, it took me roughly 3-5 days to remove the stubborn acne. Here’s a before and after photo as comparison:

Safeguard Derma Sense: Before and After

The picture speaks for itself that the product works! Despite being a sponsored post, I have to admit that I’m rather pleased that the Safeguard Derma Sense is another non-comedogenic product available in the market. I remember when I wrote down about my skin care routine a few years ago, my readers said that the product I was using didn’t work for them. Hopefully, this one from Safeguard will work for them.

So if you’re having issues with acne, I’m inviting and encouraging you to try the Safeguard Derma Sense line. Not only do they contain anti-bacterial ingredients to fight against acne-causing germs, they’re also affordable and available in leading supermarkets. Here’s the suggested retail price (SRP) of the Safeguard Derma Sense line:

  • Safeguard Derma Sense Facial Cleanser (100ml) – PHP199.00
  • Safeguard Derma Sense Body Wash (200ml) – PHP120.00
  • Safeguard Derma Sense Body Bar (90g x 2) – PHP88.50

I actually want to try it out but I’m afraid I might have breakouts after using it. I’m currently using Pond’s facial cleanser and Olay moisturizer, and so far they work for me. :)

I’m currently using the facial cleanser for acne prone skin, so far my breakouts have lessened and my skin is more glowing compared to other acne products that I’ve used before. I guess it’s a cheaper take on Cetaphil and Celeteque!!

Also, it’s less drying than Celeteque!

I have sooo many skincare lined up, I can’t wait to try this. Everyone’s raving about the Acne-prone but I want to try the sensitive skin for my dry skin.
