Ambleside, England

I’ve been putting off editing these photos because they’re just TOO MANY, especially with Ambleside because we spent two days there.

Ambleside is in the heart of Lake Distric National Park, a national park that is a mountaneous region in the North West England. It was gloomy and cold on the first day and if I were given a choice, I’d stay inside the lovely hostel and sip hot cocoa. Lucy and I didn’t have much time exploring the areas surrounding Lake Windmere, so I suggested we visit the castle nearby. The hostel was located right beside the Ambleside Pier, which I thought was really convenient for exploring the area.

These are the shots I took on our first day.

I wish I live in England, then I’ll have photo shoots in the woods and still feel safe.

Wray Castle is a Victorian neo-gothic castle and is currently handled by the National Trust. We didn’t really went inside because we were required to pay. Hehe. Beatrix Potter, apparently, summered here when she was 16.

We saw a small cottage at the end of the path. Why are they using a U.S. Mailbox? Hehe.

The weather started to get better the moment we went back to the hostel. In fact, it was sunny by 8PM.

Some of the sights I saw on our way back.

Careful. They can be quite aggressive, totally different from how I pictured them from the Ugly Duckling.

I thought it was cute that they’re all sleeping near the pier. :3

The YHA Hostel in Ambleside. They have several hostels in Lake District, but this one is right along the tip of Lake Windmere.

To be honest, I am taken aback by the beauty of England. I already knew that England is a very beautiful country but it just felt surreal that I was seeing these places with my own eyes, capturing them with my own viewfinder. I don’t even think my photos can do any justice.
