This article has been sitting quietly in my drafts for almost a year now. I updated this article a few days ago, but I guess I wasn’t able to save the changes I’ve made (screw you, PH internet!) as I’m seeing the old write-up. :(
If you’re a big fan of Lee Min Ho or Girls Generation’s Yoona, you might have heard of Innisfree since they’re the main endorsers of this spectacular beauty brand. As for me, I’ve only heard about Innisfree last December when I was in Macau and was interested in trying organic Korean beauty products. Innisfree was the first one that appeared on searches as it is South Korea’s first all-natural and organic brand. The brand also received great reviews from MakeupAlley, /r/AsianBeauty and other beauty communities. As a result, Innisfree was my #1 shopping priority when I had the opportunity to visit South Korea last year.
Here are the things that I bought from Innisfree and my thoughts about each product:
Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask — This come in two sizes — in 100ml and 200ml, if I’m not mistaken. I have the 100ml jar and based on the amount I’ve used each beauty session, this small jar can last for a reaaally long time. Using this product is also simple: on a clean and towel-dried face, apply this clay gunk all over your face in a circular motion and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Then rinse with water and voila~! You’ll immediately notice how smoother and brighter your face has become.
Soybean Firming Eye Cream — An eye cream that contains soybean extra from Jeju Island. This eye cream is moisturizing but too thick for my taste. I don’t know if it does any miraculous changes on my eye area, but given its thick texture, I like to use for added moisture and hydration.
Green Tea Eye Cream — Another eye cream, but from the Green Tea line. The texture of this serum is more lightweight and quite ideal for everyday use compared to the Soybean. I still don’t see any miraculous changes on my eye area, though.
Green Tea Seed Serum — THIS IS MY FAVORITE! I actually hoarded on this one (I’ve got three bottles to date). Serums have smaller molecules, so they can penetrate the skin better and address specific concerns like aging and wrinkles. I use this right immediately after I wash my face, followed by a moisturizer.
Green Tea Sleeping Pack — Another favorite. It’s basically a moisturizer that you apply right before you sleep. You can use this every day, but I suggest you save this for stressful days.
Eco Safety No Sebum Sunblock — I don’t get any breakouts with this sunblock, but it leaves a terrible white cast making it difficult for me to apply makeup after. :(
Olive Real Essential Oil — I haven’t used this product yet, but I’m thinking of using this to save my dead hair!
Innisfree isn’t locally available unless you purchase online, but I think that’s more expensive. It’s best to purchase directly in Korea where Korean beauty products are cheaper and sold in bulk.
