Chic Guide To Winter Wear

Travel Essentials: Fall/Holiday and Winter Wear

Living in the Philippines, we don’t get to experience the winter season. But if you’re lucky enough to fly out of the country and experience winter wonderland, I hope this fashion guide will be able to prepare you but still remain chic and stylish. Trust me, it’s better to be prepared than freeze yourself to death.

During the winter months, creating chic and stylish outfits can sometimes seem that much more difficult. You want your outfit to look stylish, but you don’t want to feel freezing cold when you step outside. While you have to be more covered up when you go outside during the fall and the winter, it doesn’t mean that you have to neglect style for warmth. With just a few essential pieces, you can create a truly stylish winter/fall wardrobe.

A Versatile Coat: Having a coat that is chic and stylish is essential, particularly in the very cold winter months, when a jacket won’t suffice. Choose a coat in a neutral shade, like black, brown or beige. A neutral coat, like a black coat, is a very versatile piece, meaning it will pair well with a range of other items, from red pencil skirts, to blue jeans, without clashing. When selecting a coat, choose something that has a little bit of an edge and includes embellishments, like studs, lace, or leather panels. A coat that is neutral enough to match well with other clothing items and accessories, but edgy enough to make a style statement, is truly an essential winter wardrobe piece.

Heeled Boots: During the fall and the winter, you don’t have to trade out your heels for flats. Invest in a comfortable pair of heeled boots. Boots that feature a heel will keep you warm in the cold weather, but they are still stylish and very feminine too. Wearing heeled boots is the perfect way to incorporate heels into your outfits during the fall and the winter.

A Stylish Jacket: During the fall months when it’s chilly outside, but not super cold, a stylish jacket is the perfect item. Whether it’s a black leather jacket or a grey blazer, you can layer a jacket over an array of different outfits or pair it with an elegant scarf and, yes even day-to-day walking trousers, to create a range of stylish looks. The chilly weather can also be the perfect time to update your cold-weather wardrobe. Make sure that you have the necessary outdoor wear essentials such as anoraks, parkas and windbreakers for the colder weather. Jackets are definitely a girl’s best friend against the biting winter winds and constant downpours.

Bold Accessories: Hats, scarves and even gloves are essential during the fall and winter. Considering choosing winter accessories in bold shades and patterns, as these can make an otherwise plain winter outfit much more stylish. For example, a leopard print scarf can really add a pop of color and style to an outfit. For gloves, a pair of studded black leather gloves can make a real style statement. Tights should also be a staple piece in your wardrobe during the fall and the winter.

A Midi Skirt: Midi skirts are diverse, stylish and chic. Whether it’s dark red, black, navy blue or any other colour a midi skirt looks simply stunning when paired with other winter items. A midi skirt is the perfect item for autumn and winter because it’s stylish and feminine, but it will keep you warm too.

Knitwear: From chunky-knit jumpers, to form-fitting knitted dresses, knitwear should be a part of any fashion conscious woman’s wardrobe. Fitted jumper dresses look feminine and chic when worn with a pair of high heeled boots and a stylish winter coat. Cardigans and scarves never go out of style, they are simply perfect for layering for the fall and the winter too.

It would be fun if the following months will be cold here. Funny how I love fall/winter outfits but I don’t even get to wear them in our country. Thanks for the tips though. Might need this soon! L:)

I know how you feel! Lately, we’ve been visiting different shops in the mall and I usually end up trying at least one coat just because! :))
