What I Wore: The Dots of The 1950s

I got this dress for my 26th birthday last October. The moment I entered the store and saw this dress on the racks, I ran and instantly took it to the dressing room. I’ve always loved polka-dots so I thought it was pretty hilarious that I was jumping up and down out of excitement!

Polka-dotted dress from Guess • Pink platform heels from Topshop • Bag from Stradivarius

I don’t recall how my love for polka dots started. It’s possible it’s intertwined with my love for the 1950s fashion, since polka , dots boomed in popularity during those days. But even in design, I’ve always loved those silly tiny dots against a single hue background. There’s something about them that makes me go *u*

Last set from my photoshoot with photographer, Bria Cardenas.

You look gorgeous Kisty! Your pastel hair color definitely suits you!! <3 I think wearing a red lip color would also look great on your outfit.

I AM IN LOVE with polka dots too! HAHA I guess you will see in some of the recurring photos in my blog the gray+black-polka dress that I have. It’s almost similar to yours but (other than the color it’s) sleeveless.

If I had seen this dress too, Kisty, I might have played a tug-of-war with you :P

Haha! Polka dots are the cutest, I don’t know why they don’t sell enough of these prints! But I think in Europe, at least in London, they have tons of vintage-looking dresses so you won’t have a problem buying these lovely dotted clothes! :D
